How we write our articles

Our articles and guides are written for HR, finance and business owners in the Philippines, by the teams who do this work for our clients every day.

Who writes them

Zalamea Actuarial Team

Our actuarial and retirement consulting practice prepares funding and accounting valuations, designs company retirement plans, and helps employers qualify their plans for tax exemption under RA 4917. We do actuarial work for about 4,000 companies covering more than a million employees. This team writes our retirement and actuarial articles.

Zalamea Payroll Team

Our payroll and HR solutions practice runs payroll for about 250 companies, either on our own payroll software or as a fully outsourced service. This team writes our payroll articles.

How we check them

Every figure, rate, deadline and legal reference is checked against the official source before we publish. That means the law itself and the issuances of the BIR, SSS, Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, DOLE and BSP, as well as Supreme Court decisions. Each article names the laws and issuances it draws on, so you can check them yourself.

How we keep them current

Rules change, so each article shows the date it was last updated. When a new law, rate or issuance affects an article, we review it and update it.

What they are, and what they are not

Our articles explain the rules in plain language. They are general information, not legal or tax advice for your company. Every company's plan and workforce is different, so if you need guidance for your own situation, talk to our team.
